I wouldn't trust Wicklow in any league match, they would tend to have the bollocks ran out of them in training at this time of year.
Kerry to beat Dublin
Antrim to beat Sligo
Wicklow to beat Clare
Also, take Waterford to beat the handicap against Leitrim. Not sure what the handicap will be (no access at work) but Waterford usually go OK in the league.
Louth are a solid bet to beat Wexford. We always start the year off well(before turning to shite as soon as the Championship begins) We have a new manager and the team had a good win against Kildare last week. Solid 4/5 shots I think.
Really like the look of Monaghan @13/8 to beat Cork. Cork haven't had a pre-season as they opted out of the McGrath cup in order to go on a team bonding holiday to Thailand. This would be a tough fixture for them at the best of times but without match practice I reckon they are very vulnerable. Last season these teams played in the same venue (Scotstown) and Monaghan ran out cosy winners. Cork are also missing Miskella and Canty which will leave them short of experience at the back. Monaghan are a good side and can win this.
Bet of the weekend for me.
Verdict:
Monaghan @13/8
Monaghan are missing JP Mone and Owen Lennon and maybe Gollogly. Mone will be missed alright but Lennon can be easily replaced. It'll be a strong Monaghan team with the likes of Finlay, McManus, Freeman, Clerkin, Corey and McQuaid all togging out. It's a stong Cork team alright but I just feel that the lack of a pre-season and the Scotstown factor (remember they lost by 6 or 7 points last season) may be enough to give Monaghan the edge.
I'd have to go with Cork as a fairly confident selection here. Thats a very strong side they have selected, probably the strongest on show all weekend and given the paucity of quality in the Munster championship, the southern big two generally approach the league differently to other top sides and try build momentum from a good early campaign.

It was a strong side that they sent up last year as well and they were thoroughly outplayed. This is their first game since Septembers humiliating loss against Kerry. Bound to be a few cobwebs. Counihan said during the week that going back to Scotstown is like going back to hell!
Wicklow to beat Clare 10/11
Roscommon to beat Cavan 8/13
Kerry to beat Dublin 4/9
Antrim to beat Sligo 11/10
Laois to beat Tipp 4/7
€10 singles, €10 accumulator.
Also, will be doing a "three draws" bet every round of the leage, this week's selections:
Monaghan / Cork
Derry / Tyrone
Meath / Armagh
All 15/2, €1 singles €1 accumulator.
Disappointed with the Monaghan result as they threw it away. Horrible start conceding three goals in the opening ten minutes but they worked their way back into the game and led for much of the second half. Were two points up with a couple of mins to go but three late points by Cork snatched victory for the rebels. 13 wides for Monaghan in the game cost them dear. Well done to all the Cork backers.
Decent opening victory for Louth.
Anywhere got the Round 2 games priced up yet?
