Dutching 2010

As some of you know, I had very good success dutching here and elsewhere in the past and I'm hoping to pick it up again this year. Won't have one every day but should have two or three bets per week anyway.

Total stake on each race will start off at €100 and I'll review as I go along.

I'll be shopping around and leaving orders for the best prices but for the purposes of recording this, I'll use Betfair SP and assume the commission is the maximum 5%.

As you may know, dutching involves backing more than one horse in a race and the stakes are worked out so that the same profit is returned no-matter which of your horses wins.

This is only a trial - may do it over 50-100 bets and then review so follow at your peril. If any horse is a NR, the stake is split between the remaining horse(s). In other words, the full stake is always €100.

Hill, I just have to ask something that has confused me since the beginning of this thread:

Why have you not used the Betfair prices at which you actually made each day's bets rather than the Betfair SP as a settlement basis for your P/L calculations?
And secondly, seeing as you are putting in requests for "over-the-odds" prices on all your selections is there not a possibility that one of those requests may not be filled. Probability would dictate that such a situation will arise on some occasion? What will happen then ............... your entire Dutch bet for the day will be scuppered, no?
